Are you intimidated by making candy? It can be a little tricky - different temperature stages, and lots of other variables, can definitely affect your outcome... and turn your sweet treat into a sloppy mess or a burnt disaster.
But guess what - it doesn't have to be difficult. Here's a recipe that you can even do with the kids... it is SUPER easy, SUPER tasty, and SUPER versatile.
And you don't even need a candy thermometer.
Easy Chocolate Fudge
2/3 cup whipping cream (35%)
1/4 cup butter
1 1/4 cup white sugar
16 large marshmallows
1 tsp vanilla
1 1/2 cups chocolate chips or chocolate wafers
3/4 cup slivered almonds, walnuts, or other nuts (optional)
In a large saucepan, melt together the butter, sugar and vanilla. Add the cream and the marshmallows. Keep over medium heat until the marshmallows are melted and sugar is completely dissolved.
